Crowdsourcing, opportunities and limits

Our first experience with crowdsourcing dates back to 2007, until then we had not heard of it or, at least, we had never really been interested in the subject, despite our assiduous browsing.

We finally decided to participate in the first contest, competing for a new advertising campaign for Sant’Anna water, a famous brand with an attractive budget. The client’s approval boosted our self-confidence and raised our expectations, and by the end of our first contest we were already completely fascinated by this type of online competition.

We still didn’t know what kind of love-hate relationship we would have with this job….Today, after having participated in many national and international contests and having won more than 50 victories, we can say that we are a little more experienced than we were then and we want to share our tips and experiences in this and other future posts.

We have to say that it is definitely not an easy way to success, but the satisfaction and the charge that winning a contest can give is indescribable. In fact, it is not simply a matter of completing a job for a client and seeing the client satisfied with the result. It is about achieving this goal by beating the competition of dozens, often hundreds of competitors. Yes, it is a competition, the pleasure of excelling over others, of being able to consider one’s own work superior to that of others who have worked just as hard to get there.

Beware, however, of the other side of the coin, because often you may find yourself at the top of the customer satisfaction list until a few hours before the closing date, only to end up in second place, narrowly missing out on the prize you deserve after having spent many hours working on it.

In recent years many crowdsourcing platforms have sprung up that combine supply and demand and allow those who want to compete with others to offer a reward if they win the contest.

Below are some of the platforms that we consider reliable and that we ourselves have tried out
